Watermelon Mini Sessions {Sandra Jackson Photography}

How adorable is little miss M? I threw this little set up together on a whim when I knew she was coming over for my watermelon minis. I'm so glad I did!  It seems impossible that summer is coming to an end and these photos make me miss it already!

Beyers Family

Yeah, it's been a while since I've blogged.  Let's blame it on the global pandemic.  Seriously though, business has been slow. It's understandable.  Who thinks about photos when it's hard to find toilet paper or when you have to wonder about proper mask wearing rules during  a session?

Before all of the chaos, I welcomed the sweetest family into my studio!  Seriously, they were the cutest!

See what I mean?  So cute right?! I'll share a few more because really, you come here for the photos not my monologue.

It just doesn't get much cuter folks.  I absolutely love capturing families in all their warm happy love.

Soaking Up Summer

You guys!  I nearly posted about fall family photos.  FALL PHOTOS!  It's the beginning of August and suddenly things feel more like fall. The air this morning felt crisp and cool as I checked on my garden.  I'm not ready for fall.  Not even close.  It's been a beautiful summer.  We've swam in the pool and tended to our garden.  We've spent nights by the fire roasting marshmallows and gazing at the stars.  We've gathered with friends to enjoy fireworks.  We've spent many nights at the ball field cheering our our favorite team. Still it feels like it's never enough.  I want more hot sunny days and star filled nights.  I want more dinners with friends and campfire conversations.  Summer is my jam.  This summer in particular  has been a much needed distraction from all of the chaos.  Sure, we missed vacation and all of the summer events we usually participate in, but it's hard to feel sad when the sun warms your shoulders and there is so much life growing all around us.

If you're like me and you're missing summer before it's even gone.  This post is for you!  These photos are so full of whimsy and magic.  There's something so quintessentially summer about fireflies in glass jars on a hot summer night.

I'll save those fall photos for another day.  For now I'm going to relish the sun and start up the pool so I can soak in every last beautiful bit of summer.

Tell me all about your summer in the comments!

Greyson: Newborn Session {Sandra Jackson Photography}

There's something about a baby that makes the world a brighter place. Maybe it's their innocence or their impossibly small fingers and toes. Maybe it's that unmistakable new baby scent or those new baby coos. Whatever it is, I can not get enough. It's a good thing I get my baby snuggles during my job.
Little Greyson came to see me with his mom, dad, and big brother. I loved every second of his session.

Lydia: AC Valley Senior {Sandra Jackson Photography}

"Several years ago, I read that elementary particles (the "things" physicists study!!) were "bundles of potentiality."  I have begun to think of all of us this way, for surely we are as undefinable, unanalyzable, and bundled with potential as anything in the universe."   Mary Ann Anderson "Nursing Leadership, future, and Professional Practice for the LPN/LVN"

Each time I photograph a high school senior I'm reminded of this quote. Bundles of potential pose in front of my camera and as they tell me about their plans for the future I can't help but think that this world is a very very good place with so much potential bouncing around!

My session with Lydia was no different. She has such exciting plans for her future! I can't wait to see all that she does.

First Birthday Cake Smash { Sandra Jackson Photography}

When you turn one you might as well wear a pretty dress with a glitter crown and stuff your face with delicious cake.  In fact, you might as well do that at every age! This was my first time making a balloon swag and I have to say I love it!  Balloons make everything a little more fun.
Miss E was truly so fun and spunky during her session! She, like me, must  love
glitter and pink.

Dylan turns One {Sandra Jackson Photography}

When Dylan's mom contacted me and wanted to use a large pink balloon and a pink tutu, I was all in!  I knew right away I wanted to make floral hoops.  This session was so much fun to put together.  Dylan sure did make me work for it though!  She was completely unsure of the entire situation. I think I won her over in the end.
